Projects

Transitions

My multi-media project entitled Transitions - an Adventure in Music and Words  was performed in October 2023, in a benefit for Borderlands refugee charity at the Bristol Music Club.

This involved ten musicians playing my original music, as well as an actor speaking the words of various people talking about the changes happening in their lives. These people include my friends and family, as well as some refugees and asylum seekers.

The programme gives more information about the project, as well as the details of the performers.

Performances

In another concert at the Bristol Music Club in the autumn of 2023, there was a performance of a short piece which I composed for violin and piano, Enchanted Spring.

It was performed by Ruth Yudkin (violin) and Daniella Acker (piano).

This followed on from a performance of my String Quartet a year earlier.

Recordings

The jazz fusion quartet Ultrabeige, in which I played bass guitar, released a CD early in 2022.

The recording, which I mixed in my home studio, is available on Bandcamp online and for download.

Recent Compositions

In spring 2020, in response to the pandemic and lockdown, I composed an orchestral piece, The World Doesn’t Need Us.

I recorded it, using mainly sampled instruments, and uploaded it to YouTube with images of the natural world.

In 2023 I completed a follow-up piece, But We Need Each Other, scored for small ensemble and choir. I am looking to arrange a performance of this in the near future.

Current projects

I am currently working on a piece for piano trio (piano, violin and cello) which I am hoping will be performed in Autumn 2024 at the Bristol Music Club.
